Our Goal:
Our goal is to change the lives of the students and staff at Kiprengwe Primary School in Kericho, Kenya. Providing these students with bicycles will mean shorter days, which will directly increase productivity, increase safety and decrease drop-out rates.
2013 Kenya Trip:
We are very excited to announce that our first shipment of Kona AfriKid bicycles has been made! We are currently seeking volunteers to travel to Kenya with our team from May 5, 2013 to May 20, 2013 for assembly and delivery of the bicycles.

Our Staff:
This project was founded by Melissa Farahat and Kelly Mac Vicar. Both Kelly and Melissa travelled to Kiprengwe Primary School in 2009, and returned wanting to help the students. They volunteer 100% of their time because they believe all the donations received should go directly towards bringing the AfriKid bicycles to Kenya.
The AfriKid Bike:
The AfriKid bicycle is a kid-specific bicycle that was created by Kona Mountain Bike Co. Mitchell Scott, the director at Kona, came together with his team to create the AfriKid bicycle specifically for this project. We’re extremely fortunate that for every two bicycles we purchase through donations, Kona will donate one bike for free. Each AfriKid bicycle will cost approximately $130.00 CDN each.
